International Partnership with OP Jindal Global University

COALESCE is developing a growing partnership with OP Jindal Global University (JGU) in India, bringing together shared interests in neurodiversity, inclusive education, and student wellbeing. Following an invited visit to JGU — which included talks, meetings, and early scoping for research and teaching collaborations — the partnership now spans several connected strands.

At the research level, COALESCE will be working with JGU’s Centre for Neurodiversity Studies to adapt and validate the Academic Learning Experiences Questionnaire (ALEQ) with their student population, widening its international relevance. The teams are also co-developing work on student mental health, disability, and academic culture, building a more detailed picture of the pressures and supports shaping learning within different higher-education systems.

On the teaching side, the partnership includes a new Global Classroom link between Sussex and JGU. This creates shared teaching spaces where students learn alongside each other across continents, bringing together perspectives on learning, cognition, disability, and inclusion in a way that only international collaboration allows.

A school-to-school partnership is also in development, creating opportunities for ongoing exchange, joint seminars, and student involvement on both sides. The aim is to build a long-term relationship rooted in co-creation, cultural understanding, and a shared commitment to improving the educational experiences of neurodivergent learners across global contexts.
