LAB LAUNCH TALK: “The Inclusion Illusion” - Dr Jacqui Shepherd - Disability Inclusion Consultant
Comments
A really expansive talk on the issue of always striving for perfect inclusion, showing how systemic changes will reduce the burden of changes at individual levels. I appreciated the look at all aspects on how the little differences could have far larger positive impacts, especially when changing the systemic issues trickled down. It made me think about my own experiences with inclusion and how to make settings I overlook more inclusive. I realised how making changes even if no one requests is good, to presume the need for inclusion. It was a well delivered reminder of how difficult it is to be inclusive but not permitting being idle and not trying to learn constantly. - Esme
